How We Talk About Our Work
Interpreters provide an intimate service of communication mediation between languages and cultures. The scientific fields that study these fields are linguistics and anthropology. Thus we need to gain competencies in these fields and gain comfort in accepting the labels of Linguist and Anthropologist if we are to truly function as professional Interpreters.
